José Velazco uses photography, text and video to create works that explore family and spirituality. He received his MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009 and has exhibited his works across the country. 

He his currently editing En Vida, a short film about his great-aunt's life and death. He is also working on his Set List Project, a collection of concert song lists acquired over nearly two decades.  He lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
